One of Colombia's leading card-payment networks secures clearing and settlement across mission-critical platforms

The network's clearing processes relied on a mix of mission-critical platforms, each with its own interfaces and ways of operating. Three challenges stood out:

• Integrating AS400, Tandem and COBOL: orchestrating file exchanges across systems from different generations without rewriting applications.
• PCI DSS compliance: protecting cardholder data in every transfer, as the industry standard requires.
• Operator traceability: knowing who ran what, when and with what outcome at every step of clearing.

Redsis implemented Fortra GoAnywhere MFT, Fortra's managed file transfer platform, as the orchestration layer for clearing and settlement. GoAnywhere centralizes, encrypts, automates and audits file exchanges between internal systems, card brands and partners from a single console.

The architecture brought together three components: Advanced Workflows, to model clearing flows with their transfer, encryption and validation steps; GoAnywhere agents on AS400, which run transfers and workflows directly on the IBM server; and the IBM CMD Client API, to bring IBM back-end command execution into those workflows. All of it runs on scheduled executions for Mastercard and Visa processes.
